Movie of the Month
Suspiria
Prime Video has added the most aesthetically unsettling horror movie of the year. Directed by Luca Guadagnino, Suspiria is a remake from the cult classic by Dario Argento. The original film’s limited availability has contributed to its mainstream popularity, only a few online places are streaming it. Starring Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton, the film is set in 1977 Berlin. Johnson’s character plays an American dancer who auditions at a elite dance academy. The film explores motherhood, power, and the politcal state within Europe in the 70’s while building a supernatural world of an abstract dance coven.
